What is factoring?
Factoring is an agreement, on the basis of which an entrepreneur (factorer) sells his payment claims to the bank or a factoring company (factor), for which he receives advance money paid towards accepted liabilities.
This alternative form of financing current business combines the three aspects:
- Financing – paying advance money towards liabilities that were taken over
- Administration services – a number of activities provided by the factor and connected with managing the payments: monitoring the dates of maturity payments, collecting, any pre-vindication activities, monitoring financial situation of contractors
- Taking by the factor the risk of insolvency of the factoring debtor.
